Jefferson “Jeff” Neal Jr. Obituary, Death – Mr. Jefferson Walter “Jeff” Neal, Jr., a respected 58-year-old resident of Louisville, KY, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023, at Baptist Health Louisville, surrounded by family and friends. Jeff was born to Nancy (Freas) Neal and J.W. Neal, and was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Minnie Bess and Tom Freas, Allie V. and Garlon Neal, his aunt Glenda Madison, uncle Larry Freas, and cousin Tom Barger.
A 1983 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School, Jeff excelled in football and baseball. He continued his education at Western Kentucky University, where he was a proud member and President of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Jeff dedicated his career to assisting and investing in individuals and businesses. His professional journey included roles at Northwestern Mutual Life, Guardian Life Insurance, and MassMutual Life Insurance. He served as the President of Capital Management Consulting.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Ella J. Neal, son Michael Kelly, and daughter-in-law Macy, along with grandchildren Sullivan and Neal. Jeff is also survived by his sister Nanette Key, her husband Larry, aunt Debbie Freas, and cousins Vonda Vaught, Brian Freas, and Cheri Natcher. His impact extended beyond family, encompassing many friends who were considered family.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM (CST) on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the Franklin First United Methodist Church, with interment at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 10:00 AM (CST). In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy to be directed to the Franklin-Simpson Quarterback Club. Arrangements are entrusted to Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Jeff Neal’s legacy lives on through the memories of those he touched and the contributions he made to both his community and the lives of individuals and businesses.
