Bernie Fagan Obituary, Death – Bernadette Fagan aka “Bernie” We regret to inform you that Bernadette “Bernie” Diane Fagan (née Koch) passed away peacefully on November 11, 2023, at the age of 69. Beloved mother of Charles (Catherine) Fagan and Heather (Evan) Ardoin, devoted grandma to Matthew, Norah, and Emma Fagan as well as Felix and Margot Ardoin, and the beloved wife of John M. Fagan for 45 years.

Dear sister to Barry (Tess) Koch, Beverly Driemeyer, and Betty Collins. Her brother Bruce (Penny) Koch and sister Barb Johnson both passed away before Bernie. The county of North St. Louis is where Bernie grew up. After earning her degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 1978, she met John, her future husband, and made a number of friends for life.

They loved the community they discovered in the St. Aloysius parish in south St. Louis City, where they reared their family. Bernie eventually relocated to south St. Louis county, where her distinctive T-bird convertible with Cardinals stickers was a common sight on the town streets. No matter where she was, Bernie had a passionate life. Bernie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who prioritized her family.

She never missed a St. Louis Cardinals game because she was such a big fan. She was a very competitive player in Words with Friends, probably because she solved so many puzzles every day. She cherished teaching her grandchildren to swim and taking laps in her pool. Her giving nature will always be cherished memories of her.
